For vendors, Bold Reuse provides the materials & support needed to offer reusables. Learn more here.

You may select to purchase an Annual or Monthly subscription to use Bold Reuse. In addition, you may choose the number of credits that are available on your subscription. The # of credits on your subscription is = to the total # of reusables that can be checked out at once.

Here’s the cost breakdown for Annual Subscriptions (charged annually):

  • 1 credit = $21.95
  • 2 credits = $30.00
  • 3 credits = $35.00
  • 4 credits = $40.00

And Monthly Subscriptions (charged monthly):

  • 1 credit = $3.95
  • 2 credits = $5.00

All Bold Reuse subscriptions auto renew. To request a subscription be canceled, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you for understanding that Bold Reuse is unable to provide refunds for subscription charges.

The number of credits on your subscription equals the total number of reusables that you may have checked out at the same time. After reusables are successfully returned to a Bold Reuse drop site, a credit will be added back to your subscription. There is no limit to the total number of times you can check out and return Bold reusables during the term of your subscription.

Of course! Currently, additional credits must be manually added to your subscription, so please drop us a line at [email protected] and let us know how many credits you’d like to add (note: the max number of credits available for annual subscriptions is 4; monthly subscriptions is 2).

For households, we recommend one household member sign up for an annual subscription with 2 – 4 credits. Multiple household members can log into the app (using the same email and password) to check out and return reusables.

If more than 4 credits are desired, a second household member could purchase an annual subscription with up to another 4 credits.

If you’re having trouble downloading the app, please ensure your device supports our app.

If your app isn’t working, please check that you have the most recent version of the Bold Reuse mobile app downloaded (Apple or Android). If the app seems stuck or displays an unusual error message, you may also try to log out (via the profile page) and then back in to ensure your app is correctly communicating with our servers.

For other technical difficulties, please email us at [email protected] so that we may look into the issue.

Please log into your account via our website or app, navigate to the Profile page and select “Manage My Account.” From there, you may cancel your subscription. Please note that a $5 lost container fee will be charged for any containers that have not been returned to the system. Thank you for understanding that Bold Reuse is unable to provide refunds for subscription charges requested after a renewal has been processed.

Bold Reuse has relationships with the state Departments of Agriculture and County Health Departments for the states that we provide our service. Our service falls outside of their regulatory purviews, but these organizations have reviewed our standard operating procedures related to the safe and sanitary washing, drying, and transporting of reusable containers and cups. In addition, both organizations recognize Bold Reuse has an approved third-party service provider of reusable containers and cups for vendors.

Bold Reuse containers are made of BPA-free polypropylene #5, which is generally considered one of the safest choices for plastic products (other #5 products include yogurt cups and baby bottles). #5 plastic is highly resistant to heat transfer and is super durable – our containers may be used up to 300 times before they are retired from service. At the end of their usable lives, we send them to a local recycling facility.

We are material agnostic and recognize there are pros and cons to every material which could be used for reusable packaging. While by no means perfect, plastic is lightweight, durable, and relatively inexpensive, which are all valuable aspects for reusable packaging. They need to be durable so we can wash and reuse them as many times as possible. And they need to be a size and shape that vendors are familiar with serving their food in. Since another material that fulfills all these criteria isn’t available at this time, we’ve decided to utilize a plastic container.

While you do not need to fully wash the container before returning it to the dropbox, we appreciate your help ensuring the reusable is as free of food and liquid as possible. If you have the ability to give it a quick rinse before returning it, that’s great, but not necessary.

Yes, it does require water and energy to wash Bold reusables. However, even with the energy and water needed to wash, the overall environmental impact of reusables is substantially less than single-use, throw-away containers.  You can read more about the environmental impact of reuse vs. single use from Upstream.

Thank you for your interest in partnering with Bold Reuse! Please visit our For Vendors for more information – we look forward to working with you!

Of course! We’ve partnered with event managers hosting 10 to 700 attendees to provide sustainable meals served in our reusable containers. Please contact us at [email protected] to discuss how we could work with your event.

It’s clear that in many cities there’s a rising awareness of our unsustainable dependency of single-use plastic disposables and the negative impacts they have on our local, regional, and global environments. Licensing the Bold Reuse system is an exciting opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to leverage that rising awareness and provide a real solution to a growing, significant problem.

We’re still working on a solution for licensing! Feel free to drop us a line at [email protected] and we’ll let you know when we open up opportunities.
